May 2014 Pea Harvest

Do you remember last year when I thought I planted shelling peas but harvested snow peas instead? Well, this year, we got it right! We used the trellis that Grandpa set up last year and we planted Laxton Progress #9 shelling peas in early March. Well, they are only about two feet high but every day there are more and more peas to pick. Percy is even sneaking in to enjoy them! It is really fun to sit on the deck and shell the peas. All I need now is a rocking chair! We will be sure to save some yummy, sweet peas for your summer visit!
