Blueberries! Last season, we planted four different varieties that were to ripen at various times during the season~early, mid and late. These photos were taken in June. We will admit that we did munch on a handful of blueberries but most of them were shared with the bluejays and other birds. We do not mind sharing a bit but, really??!!

Any way, we took a field trip to the local organic blueberry patch and Grandpa picked up some ideas about lightly covering the plants. I am sure we will be awash in blueberries next season. While we were there, we purchased three pounds of fresh, organic blueberries and enjoyed them in a pie, with oatmeal and straight out of hand~yum!

I have a canning idea for you …. Blueberries jam! And I wouldn’t complain one bit if you sent some our way.
