Kailyn and Ellie’s Flower Garden in Frederick, Maryland

You and your mom did most of the hard work before I arrived. You pulled most of the weeds and dug up the good dirt. The day before we went shopping for the perfect flowers to plant, we did some last minute weed pulling. I was very impressed with the rich soil and bountiful worms. We had fun figuring out where to place each of the flowers, digging the holes, pulling the plants out of their containers, and “teasing” out the roots to encourage growth. Everyone had a hand in the process and had a good time. I love the special fence you designed, Kailyn, to protect the flowers. It felt good to be outdoors moving around and creating a nice space to visit. It will be your job to ensure the flowers are getting enough water and to pull out the random weeds that might pop up.
